CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION TRAININGS

Eğitim Fotoğrafı

Within the scope of the CLocalization project, the climate change adaptation trainings we organized for different segments of the society in Konak district were successfully completed.

Thanks to these trainings that encourage social participation, many different groups such as children, youth, women, disabled people, refugees and private sector representatives were informed about adaptation measures that can be taken against climate change. Participants were trained on how to analyze climate impacts at the local level, the role of rights-based approaches in this process and sustainability practices.

The trainings were conducted by 17 volunteer trainers who completed the CLocalization trainer training program. The content tailored for each group provided tools to support participants to increase climate resilience in their own living environments.

In this process
– Young people and children were told about the climate crisis and local solutions,
– Women and persons with disabilities were introduced to rights-based climate advocacy,
– The themes of social cohesion for refugees and climate justice were covered,
– Corporate sustainability and local strategies were worked on with private sector representatives.

With these multidimensional trainings, a concrete step was taken towards making local communities more resilient to climate change. The training outputs will be among the main references for the adaptation strategy of Konak district.
