Konak Private Sector Representatives Workshop

Within the scope of CLocalization – Localization for Climate Change Adaptation project, we successfully completed our workshop with the participation of private sector representatives for the first time in Konak.
This workshop, which was realized in cooperation with Konak Municipality and Social Climate Association, was an important step in the creation of a participatory climate adaptation strategy that will ensure that the district is prepared for the climate crisis.
The workshop assessed the current and future climate-related risks that different sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, livestock, biodiversity and ecosystems, industry, tourism, cultural heritage, urban development, public health, social development, transportation and communication may face. In addition to sectoral impacts, the capacity of the private sector to generate solutions and how it can contribute to local adaptation strategies were discussed.
Participants shared their sectoral experiences and field observations, revealing both problems and potential solutions. These outputs will be considered as an important reference in shaping Konak’s climate change adaptation strategy.
CLocalization project continues to build the infrastructure of a multi-stakeholder adaptation model by actively involving the private sector in local decision-making processes.
