Transformation from the Local Level: Municipalities and Participatory Adaptation Processes
Speakers: Gaye Tuğrulöz (Social Climate Association) & Bülent Köstem (Konak Municipality – Director of Research and Development)
This first episode sets the stage for the CLocalization podcast series. Throughout this series, you’ll hear from local government representatives, civil society leaders, youth, women, refugees, and field experts who are all part of a collective effort to build inclusive and strategic local climate adaptation models. The podcast aims to make visible the voices that are often left out of climate discussions—children, women, and vulnerable groups—while also sharing practical experiences from the field.
In the first episode, representatives from the two main project partners—the Social Climate Association and Konak Municipality—come together.
This episode explores a range of topics including the roles local governments play in combating climate change, institutional transformation processes, and how youth, women, and civil society can be actively involved in building a multi-stakeholder model.
Tune in to hear how this model, initiated in the Konak district, could inspire other local governments across Türkiye.
